Getting a Server????

Hey Guys and Gals, Ladies and Gents, Cats and Dogs =)

I know we have been talking about wanting a Team Speak server or Ventrilo Server.
I'm to cheap to spring for a paid static one, but I found some alternatives.

I think the same person or company owns both sites...cuz the usage instructions are almost identical.

I have used teamspeak before, but I believe we should go with Ventrilo.
Reason: We have the possibility to reserve a 25 person server. Whereas with the other the max is only 20.

ooooo i like the vent heal, we should play with it sometime and see how it goes ^^ i have both of the programs on my computer now and a mic that i hate to use lol but yea this could work for small scale exercises

I have Ventrilo downloaded already, though I hate using it xD Not a fan of talking to the computer. But sounds like a good idea.

yeah i hate talking to the computer too Battlefield. Hard to have a headset on when I'm at work listening for alarms, and hard to do it at night...cuz my wife is trying to sleep. However I find push to talk better in say fb,rb,bh,and TT...where having the stupid chat box on can get you killed. X.X =} Errr...maybe that's just me lol. Ok I'll download ventrilo and we can give it a try.

sigh... guess it's time to dig that mic out of the box in the top of my closet....

I don't know about that Lord T. We tried Ventrilo today...and it was a fail...we could connect but not hear each other. I also could not figure out how to talk while i was in the game : (

Going to try TeamSpeak next. I just went through all the settings...so hopefully it will work more smoothly then ventrilo.

OMG YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after two hours this morning i finally figured out how to connect with the teamspeak servers. I wanted to cry :king:

ok so for those of you who will want to try TS and have no idea how to use it. Here are the instructions.

1 Download TeamSpeak RC2
2 open it up (lol)
3. go to connection
4. go to quick connect
5. the server address will be the same as long as we use the free site, except for one small detail. THE PORT.

Here is an Example:

Nickname:
HealHer

Login Name------leave blank

Password
YBS3ZMJ


if you have any questions just ask...I'm still a novice to TeamSpeak but should be able to answer basic questions.

sorry forgot one note. I will grab us a TeamSpeak Server everytime i log in.....if possible....if we find we acutally use TeamSpeak...I may spring for a dedicated server next year that can do 30 people...or more if we have more on at one time. I only see at max 21 people on at one time.
